Julia Ellen Burnett Memorial
Customers and Visitors of MillerOutfitters.com,
On Friday, April 21, 2006, one of my closest friends and his lovely wife, Tim and Stephany Burnett, gave birth to their first child, a beautiful baby girl, at Good Samaritan Hospital. They named her Julia Ellen.
Soon after her birth, Julia was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a chromosomal disorder in which a baby has 3 chromosomes in the 18th position instead of the normal pair. Trisomy 18 is fatal in about 95% of all cases, with most babies dying before birth and those who do make it to birth typically living only a few days. In Julia’s case she lived for six days and died peacefully in her mother’s arms on Thursday night, April 27, 2006.
Our thoughts and sympathy go out to Tim and Stephany every day, but especially during April and Christmas holiday season. We pray that they receive all of the strength and comfort they will need to get through the rough times ahead.
A scholarship fund has been set up in Julia’s memory:
